A life’s passion.

Corey hails from the same Hometown as a famous Rock'n'Roll Hall of Famer-  Billy Joel. They both attended Hicksville High School on Long Island, New York. Billy was one of Corey's major music influences while teaching himself how to play the piano and guitar at a young age.  When people comment that Corey sounds and plays like him, he says,  "It must be something in the Long Island Water."

Corey was born in Jericho, New York, 20 miles out of New York City, where the melting pot of contemporary music was born and developed with the likes of Frank Sinatra, Dion & The Belmonts, The Four Seasons, Simon & Garfunkel, The Drifters and others. But it took four lads from Liverpool to make the most indelible impression on a six year old kid, along with his oldest brother Kenny who purchased every 45 single in Rock'n'Roll History to listen and draw upon.

The catalog songs of The Beatles help shaped Corey's voice in those early years by singing every tune from their albums, from the high toned melodic voice of Paul McCartney to the rock vibrato of John Lennon. Years later, being influenced by Jim Croce, James Taylor's voice and stealing his guitar picking licks as well as the falsetto of Dan Fogelberg, further developed his very large voice range that has become what people have come to know, hear and enjoy today.  Other influences were Motown, the California rock of The Eagles, the acoustical sound of America and across the sea's melodies of Cat Stevens, Elton John & Joe Cocker.

Corey started to learn how to teach himself on a piano and guitar at a young age.

After starting to perform in high school and college from Wine & Cheese places (yes the Long Island "Back Barn" - that's what Wine Cafe's & Lounges were called back in the early 70's) to the Ratskeller and Bars of Upstate New York, then onto cities such as New York, Boston, Ft. Lauderdale/Miami and Dallas, Texas, Corey made a life decision to take 27 years off from music to raise a family and three wonderful children, Jason, Michelle & Dylan. In 2010, the music bug returned and a chance to chase a childhood dream came back to the heart. He said, "I'll give it six months to see if I can make this happen" and over six years later it did happen. Corey is so proud to be able to bring wonderful memories and continue to build his musical career. Today, Corey has been known to fellow Tucson musicians as "the Human Juke Box" or "the hardest working musician in Tucson," being honored and humbled by both.

A lifetime experience meeting James Taylor

I met James Taylor while performing at the Westin Resort when he was in Tucson on Father's Day 2016 to perform at The Tucson Arena.   When getting the chance to talk  and  thank him for his inspiration to my music and career,  he was such a humble human being.  When telling him that I had performed at The Resort just an hour ago, he responded with:

“That was you  playing?
You sounded really good.”

As we parted ways and he left for his concert, I had realized the moment and thought: ” I can die and go to heaven now!!  My icon heard me perform & really liked it.”
